Institute for Governance & Leadership

The Institute for Governance & Leadership (IGL) is a privately held independent online organization. It is headquartered in the Netherlands since 2007 and registered at the
National Chamber of Commerce. It receives no public funding.

Misssion

The Institute's mission is 'to support leaders developing wiser leadership' to become more inspirational leaders. It is related to our vision which is ‘a world led by wiser leaders’, given the global challenges today and in the next decades. This mission and vision lead to our professional values which are ‘personal growth, respect, and meaning’ driving our effort to offer the best quality services possible.

Clients

The Institute's clients are senior and executive leaders in both public and private sector organizations and administrations in both formal and informal leadership roles. We are ICF-registered Executive Coaches.

Services

Nationally, the Institute has been sharing its expertise in corporate governance for more than 15 years. We offer Board development programs for Executive and Non-Executive Directors, and facilitate professional Board assessments.

Internationally, we now share our 50 years of personal and professional expertise in leadership and wisdom in our Executive Program for Inspirational Leadership and Wisdom.

Our Leadership

The founders and business partners of the Institute are Daniel Le Gras and Patricia Le Gras-Macdaniel.
They established the Institute in 2007 as an independent online organization.

Daniel Le Gras

Daniel holds a master's degree in European Law (LLM) and professional degrees in Company Direction (Institute of Directors, UK) and Executive Coaching (Corporate Coach University International, USA).
Nationally, he was a business consultant, change leader, and senior lecturer in corporate governance and leadership at several Dutch business schools. He was a senior lecturer at the academies of three national non-executive director associations for more than 10 years.

Sharing his expertise in (team) reflection and evaluation, he has facilitated many Board of Directors' assessments of both public and private sector organizations, such as national hospitals and universities. He is the author of ten workbooks on governance and leadership (in Dutch) and four text books on leadership and wisdom (in English).

Patricia Le Gras-Macdaniel MBA

Patricia holds a master's degree in European Law (LLM) and an MBA degree from Henley Business School, UK.
She was an academic lecturer in European Law at the National Dutch Open University and she gained expertise in distance learning concepts and IT-related aspects of online learning. She also was a lecturer on European and EU-related topics at several national administrative academies.

Daniel and Patricia have a multicultural background enabling them to understand global issues from different perspectives. They also favor a multidisciplinary approach to support new and innovative leadership concepts. Their combined and lifelong experience enables them to support their clients in their next step toward more advanced and wiser leadership.
